WIldcat-watch chimed in with this useless addendum to an NBN story about the flu:
An NbN piece on the recent availability of flu vaccine at health services really highlights what makes the Northwestern community so special:
“I got a flu shot once,” Weinberg junior Andy Kozlov said. “It made me sick. I’d have been better off without it.”
The vaccine does cause mild flu symptoms in a small percentage of people. Also, the inoculation’s protection is not fully effective until about two weeks after vaccination. Even then, it prevents only the specific influenza virus and does nothing against any other type of flu-like disease.
Penny-scrounging students may also be deterred from the flu shot by the $20 cost.
“I would be much more likely to get one if they were free,” Vaubel said.
This is impressive. Who would have thought there are people out there more bitter and cheap than me? Even I got a fucking flu shot.
Impressive and subtle analysis, Andrew. I’m glad you found some way to bring it all back to you. Honestly, your inflated sense of self-importance truly is the crucial ingredient missing from all of the other mainstream, bourgeois campus media outlets.
